Financial & Divorce
Cavendish Ware have been involved in assisting both clients and lawyers in the financial issues surrounding Divorce.
As part of the divorce process, financial information has to be provided to the courts by both sides. This involves the completion of a Form E, and in the case of Pension benefits, Form P. We can help our clients prepare their own Form E for submission, but we can also help in assessing the information provided by the other side, looking for errors and omissions. This has proved to be very valuable, and in a number of cases it has resulted in increased financial settlement.
Our pension expertise means that we can help our clients and their lawyers understand and evaluate any Pension arrangements, which now form part of the assets taken into consideration within Divorce, and then determine whether the Pensions should be earmarked, offset of split by way of a pension sharing order.
Once the divorce has been completed, we can then work with the client to build a suitable financial plan going forward. In the situation where a financial settlement includes a capital sum, our investment management service can then build and manage a portfolio in line with the overall objectives.
Cavendish Ware are currently working to be one of the first advisory firms in the UK formally accredited by Resolution.
