Our Firm

Cavendish Ware began life in 2003. We formed the firm out of a frustration with the way many of the large, established brands in the UK, trading under the banner of 'Private Banks' and 'Wealth Managers', provided financial advice. Their increasing internal focus, lack of client service and continual move to a more highly commoditised, transaction, almost conveyor belt approach meant that we felt the time was right for us to set up a smaller, boutique firm that was able to provide more bespoke advice. This was mirrored by comments and encouragement from clients, who felt they could no longer get the advice and relationship they wanted, but struggled to find a viable alternative in the often sales led, commission culture of many IFAs.

Our approach is therefore to provide a highly client focused, solution based and comprehensive advisory service.

Our ethos is founded on five core words:

People   Partnership   Planning   Performance   Passion

Size matters, and we believe that many businesses lose their client focus by growing too large. Although we will develop as a business, our aim is to remain a relatively small, boutique adviser that combines significant expertise in the advice and planning we give with a personal approach. By focusing on our clients, rather than running a large organisation, we believe we can give clients what they want, and certainly ensure that we can concentrate on the area that we love best - client advice. By working in partnership with our clients, we can develop together and truly understand and respond to their financial requirements.

Planning starts with gaining a clear idea of where you are, helping you identify and understand your objectives and then build a cohesive range of solutions. It does not start, or end, with a product. Planning is a continual process, and needs constant review and a very clear knowledge of our clients circumstances. We create very strong relationships with our clients. There will always be a need for certain product structures to achieve the objectives, but we also strongly believe that, although many ‘off-the-shelf' products have their place, they are not always the answer and we would often look to separate any tax vehicle from the investments that may lie within them. This means that the investment approach is not compromised by the tax and planning advice.

Our approach to investment management is fundamental to our philosophy. We use a very sophisticated process, that starts with an in depth objective analysis of both our clients attitude to risk and their goals and objectives, and ends with a regularly monitored portfolio that transends the vehicles they are held within, such as Pensions and ISAs. The aim is to give very robust, risk adjusted performance that is aligned with your circumstances. Please see the section on Investment Management for more information.

The strength and experience of the people we have also stands us out. Adrian Ware has 25 years experience in financial services. Prior to forming Cavendish Ware in 2003, Adrian was Director of Financial Planning at Kleinwort Benson Private Bank, one of the most prestigious financial institutions in the UK. The team he has pulled together to form Cavendish Ware has significant experience across the spectrum of Investment Management and Financial Planning in the UK, with CVs that encompass many of the leading financial services and investment firms in the country. Adrian has known or worked with many of the team prior to joining Cavendish Ware, and the mutual trust and respect with our business further stregthens our approach. If you'd like to find out more about the key people within Cavendish Ware please see the Meet the Team section.

Finally, we believe that it is the passion we have for what we do, and the continued desire to improve and enhance the service and quality of advice we give, that stands us out as one of the leading wealth management firms in the UK.
